The Office of Sponsored Research and Projects and the Office of Foundation Relations work together to support faculty seeking external funding for research, projects, and programs. All corporate & foundation grants are handled through the Office of Foundation Relations. All government (federal, state, county, and city) funding is handled by the Office of Sponsored Research and Projects. Faculty should begin the grant application process by seeking initial approval to pursue the grant thru a Request to Initiate form, found on the grants website: https://www.bethel.edu/grants/here.
Faculty should continue working with the appropriate office throughout the entire process. Final proposals are submitted by their grant support office.
If a grant is awarded, the faculty member identified in the proposal as the project director or principle investigator (PI) must work with the grant support office and the Business Office to discuss management of the grant. The project director/PI is responsible for management of the grant/contract budget and the preparation and submission of required reports. Reports must be reviewed by the grants support office before they are submitted to the agency or foundation.
