Bethel checkout iPads are reset to "new" after every use. Students. Below are steps for in-class use (also apply to individual out of class use as well).

Here are the instructions you will need to give to the students. 

1.  The   The first user of each iPad will need to go through the following steps to set up the ipad.

a.Hold the on/off button down (upper right corner) until the Apple icon appears and the ipad comes on.

b. Slide the Arrow to access set up

c. Select English and click arrow in upper right

d. Select United States and Click next in upper right

e. Select Bethel -Wifi Open, wait until the network checkmark appears and click next

f.  Select Disable Location Services, click next, , click ok

g. Select Set up as New iPad and click next.  For subsequent uses if student has set up an iCloud account or has iTunes on their personal computer, then they can sync to any iPad they check out to easily place all their own (class and other) apps on the iPad from iCloud or their iTunes desktop application. To use these options choose the appropriate "Restore from" option.

h. On the Apple ID page student should enter their own Apple iTunes/App Store account information (or for general ipad use can select the BOTTOM link called "Skip This Step" and confirm Skip 

i. Select Agree and confirm Agree

j. Select Don't Use Siri and click next

j. Select "Don't Send" on the Diagnostics page and click next

k. Select Start Using iPad.  At this point a student can use the App Store app if they have an App Store account to add Apps.

iPad Return and Data Security

At the end of the use PLEASE ask the students to do the following steps to RESET the iPads.

a. Click on Settings

b. Select General

c. Scroll down in the right GENERAL settings column and select "Reset"

d. Select "Erase All Content and Settings" and affirm any confirmation messages.

e. PLEASE return  each iPad to the CORRECT bag (The ITS # on the Blue TAG should match the number on the BACK of the iPad.

iPads are checked and reset if student fails to do so, but for your own data security we STRONGLY recommend resetting prior to returning to the instructor or the checkout desk in the Library.
