In Bethel mail there are times when an email address is typed into the “To” field, but the name associated with that address is incorrect.
- If this only happens for one user the first thing to check is Bethel Contacts.
- Occasionally we find that there is an incorrect contact that Bethel mail is referencing before it checks the directory auto complete.
- If there are no incorrect contacts in the individual users contact or if more than one user is having this experience then it may be a Google+ configuration.
- We have observed that the name that users place in their Google+ profile populates out to the rest of their Google identities associated with that account.
- If they have changed their name in the Check to see if the user has manually created a contact for the person using the wrong name.
- It is possible that the person with the incorrect account has changed their name in their Google+ profile associated with their Bethel mail account then that change will , which may be reflected in all of their Bethel Google apps for education resources.
- If the user has not created/added the contact incorrectly, or if more than one user is having this experience, escalate the issue to Systems.
