Hazing

Hazing of

any sort will not be tolerated. Hazing is defined as “committing an act against a student, or coercing a student into committing an act, that creates a substantial risk of harm to a person, in order for the student to be initiated into or affiliated with a student organization.Minnesota Hazing Law, Section 121A.69, Sub. 1 (a)

Such misconduct is a violation of Bethel policy and of state and federal law. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any person found to have violated this policy, including the possibility of notifying local law enforcement authorities. Possible consequences may include sanctions against the campus organization, its members, and/or its leadership. Sanctions may include probation, suspension, loss of privileges, loss of funding, or dismissal.
