Summary

Google Filestream is a new way to access your Google Drive files on demand, directly from your Mac or PC, without using up all of your disk space. 

Installation

File Stream is available for PC and Mac. If you would like to download it, click here and follow the instructions below.

  1. After you click on the link above you should be brought to the 'Get Started' page. Click on 'Get Started' underneath the Business section. 
  2. Scroll down until you see 'Install or deploy Drive File Stream'. Depending on your OS, click on the arrow icon to show the "Download now" option. 
  3. Please follow the instructions below to finish up your installation.
 For Windows PC computers

  1. Once the .dmg file has been downloaded, double-click to open it.
  2. Double click on the .pgk
  3. The installer should start.
  4. Input the password that you use to unlock your computer
  5. Continue through the installer until it has completed. 
  6. You might be prompted with an alert. Click on details to be taken to Security and Privacy to allow the app.
    1. If you were not prompted with any alert at all proceed to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General and click allow for 
  7. Click on the Google Drive icon on the menu bar and click on Sign in
  8. Type in your Bethel email
  9. Type in your Bethel username and password.
  10. Congratulations, you have just synced your Google Drive to your Mac. Please allow for some time to pass for everything to sync. It may take longer if you have a lot of files on your drive.
