Summary


Clearing Website Data (cache and cookies)

  1. On the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on the Menu icon.
  2. Click on "Preferences"
    1. if you are using a PC, click "Options"
  3. Select the "Privacy and Security" tab on the left
  4. Scroll down until you see "Cookies and Site Data"
  5. Click "Clear Data"
  6. A small window will pop-up. Click "Clear"



Clearing History

  1. On the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on the Menu icon.
  2. Click on "Preferences"
    1. if you are using a PC, click "Options"
  3. Select the "Privacy and Security" tab on the left
  4. Scroll down until you see "History"
  5. Click "Clear History"
  6. A small window will pop-up. Select what you would like to clear
  7. Click "Clear Now"



Creating a Firefox account and syncing

  1. On the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on the Menu icon.
  2. Click on "Preferences"
    1. if you are using a PC, click "Options"
  3. Select "Sync" on the left side. 
    1. If you already have an account click "Sign In"
    2. If you do not have an account click "Get Started"
  4. Once you have created an account or finished signing in go back to the Sync Settings.
    1. Here you can select what is synced to your account.



Blocking Pop-ups


  1. On the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on the Menu icon.
  2. Click on "Preferences"
    1. if you are using a PC, click "Options"
  3. Select the "Privacy and Security" tab on the left. 
  4. Scroll down until you see "Permissions
  5. There should be a check box for "Block pop-up Windows"
  6. Make sure that it is checked.



Turning off Hardware Acceleration

  1. On the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on the Menu icon.
  2. Click on "Preferences"
    1. if you are using a PC, click "Options"
  3. Select the "General" tab on the left
  4. Scroll down until you see "Performance"
  5. Uncheck the box for "User recommended performance settings. 
    1. After doing this you should be able to uncheck "User hardware acceleration when available"
