Setting Guest Access for a Moodle Course

You can allow guests to access your Moodle course.  Here is how.

1. Go to your course in Moodle.

2. In the Administration block, under Course adminstration, under Users, select Enrollment methods.

3. Change the hide setting for "Guest access" to show .

  >> Change to >>

Click on the Guest access settings tool  and change "allow guest access" to Yes.  (Add a password if you wish for more restricted guest access).

4.  Guests should be able to access the course in one of the following two ways.

a. Send them the URL to the course.  Then they just click "Login as guest" and they are in the course.

b. Have them go to https://moodle.bethel.edu/login/index.php?username=username
(the second username = your Bethel username)

Click Login as guest

Click on Courses in the Navigation Menu.
In the Search Courses field  search for the course title (e.g. music hour or course number MUS195).

You will see one of the following guest access icons if guest access is enabled.

  - open access to course content (no access to forums or other protected sections)
