When possible, decisions regarding class cancellations due to winter weather or other dangerous weather situations will be made by 6 am for daytime classes and 3 pm for evening classes. There are situations where cancellations may need to be made at a later time due to changing weather situations.

To sign up for Bethel alerts: visit the Bethel Alerts webpage. 

When classes are cancelled, students and employees will be notified in the following ways:

• A Bethel Alert will be distributed via Bethel email; the office phones of Bethel employees; and to other phone numbers on which students and employees have opted in to receive such alerts.
• On the Personal Announcements channel at the my.bethel home page. 
• On the Bethel homepage at www.bethel.edu.
• A voice mail will be left at 651.638.6400. The main greeting will be changed to reflect closing.

If individual events (such as Benson Great Hall or theatre events) are cancelled, but classes or normal business operations are not impacted, a Bethel Alert will not be sent. Instead, information will be posted on my.bethel.edu and bethel.edu and will be available via the main greeting at 651.638.6400.
