For many of our students, beginning coursework at Bethel is the first time they have taken online classes, and it can be daunting to transition from an analog classroom to a digital one.  Below are some resources to help you gain computer literacy and confidence in maneuvering your online classes.  

Bethel ITS Help Desk

The Help Desk works to connect Bethel to the world, facilitating teaching and learning and helping our community utilize technology.  

LinkedIn Learning

As a Bethel student, you have access to LinkedIn Learning, a database of interactive courses with videos, quizzes, practice files, and note-taking features to help track your progress.  While you are free to pick and choose individual videos to watch, many of the courses come with accompanying CEU certifications and official learning certificates at no extra cost.  Not only can you learn to use these tools to help complete your coursework and gain computer literacy, but you can build your resume at the same time.

Digital Literacy Assessment and Skills Practice

Minnesota Literacy provides a free digital literacy assessment and online basic computer skills practice unit.  If you are brand new to computers, click here for a good place to start.  They have also compiled a list of basic computer topics to help you become more familair with using email, Microsoft Office, search engines, and social media to name a few.

Google Apps

Bethel students are provided with email, contacts, calendar, collaboration tools, and more through the Google apps.  Google Drive in particular is a useful word processing platform that will allow you to create and edit documents, presentations, and spreadsheets while automatically saving them to the cloud for easy access and sharing.
