Student Success Advisors

Each program has a designated Student Success Advisor (SSA) who serves as the first point of contact for advising and support while you are enrolled in classes. The SSA can assist you with course selection, program planning, and other academic and registration questions. They are also able to provide referrals to a number of other support offices on campus, based on each student's particular needs.

Learning and Teaching Resources

The MTLE website contains information not only on test registration and policies, but they provide test-taking strategies, study guides, and paid practice tests.  Bethel has purchased an online MTLE prep course for students through Longsdale Publishing; login instructions and access codes are located in your program's Student Resource page on Moodle.  The Student Resource page also has more comprehensive information on requirements, registration, and licensing.

The NSTA is a wonderful resource for teachers looking for scholarly articles, lesson plans, experiment ideas, and the latest science news to stay up to date in the classroom.  They also offer forums to help you connect with other educators and host periodic webinars on a range of topics.

Here you can find many reading and language arts resources including interactive tools, activities, lesson plans, professional development opportunities, and apps for K-12 students.

Formed by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Trust for the Humanities, EDSITEment provides free resources for educators and students in the fields of history, social studies, literature, language arts, foreign languages, arts, and culture.  These include lesson plans, video series, teacher's guides, Google Classrom compatible activities, newspaper databases, and more.

Learning Resources

Khan Academy is a non-profit offering a range of free courses including AP study guides, SAT/ACT prep, and PreK-12 math, reading, and language arts as well as computer programming, science, and social and emotional learning for young children.  Each course includes videos, lectures, vocabulary banks, and periodic quizzes to maximize the mastery learning course design.

Teaching Tolerance is a nonprofit that offers teaching kits and classroom activities to help K-12 educators and their students tackle tough topics including race, ability, immigration, and bullying.  They also have a blog and podcast, professional development opportunities, and teaching strategies aimed at promoting an anti-bias mindset and encouraging youths to become active participants in their communities.

As a Bethel student, you have access to LinkedIn Learning, a database of interactive courses with videos, quizzes, and note-taking features to help track your progress.  While the majority of these courses are geared towards those in the business, marketing, and technology realm, there are also courses for those in K-12 and higher education, and some even come with accompanying CEU certifications at no extra cost.
