Downloading and Uploading Personal Files

This article will walk you through how to download your personal files/folders via Google Takeout. It will also walk you through how to reupload those files to a personal Google drive.
- Navigate to https://takeout.google.com using your Bethel account.
- The first thing you need to do is Deselect All at the top right of the screen.
3. Scroll down until you have spotted the Drive section. You will select Drive on the right side and select the option for All Drive data included.
4. You will navigate to the folder you created when preparing to transfer your personal files. In this case the selection could be Personal Files and you will select that option. After selecting the folder, you will click ok and move to the bottom of this page and select Next Step.
5. On the next page will be options to download the contents you selected. You will use the Send download link via email option. You will have Export once selected and the File Size will depend on how large of a file you have created. Once those settings have been set, you can select Create export.
6. Once you have clicked on Create export, you will receive a message that states the export progress has started. This may take a couple of hours or a day depending on size of folder.
7. You will then navigate to your email once you have received the email stating transfer is complete. The email will be received from noreply@google.com. You will click on the option Download your files.
8. Once downloaded, you will navigate to your downloads folder on your computer. If you are on a Mac, you will double click the folder to unzip the folder. If you are on a Windows, you will need right click the folder and select the option Extract All.
9. You are now ready to proceed to upload the personal files to your personal drive.
- Once you have downloaded and unzipped the folder, you can navigate to Google Drive. Log in using your Personal Google Account.
2. Once logged in, on the top right, select the option New. You will then select Folder Upload.
3. Navigate to the folder that you have unzipped in your account and select for upload. This will put the folder that was downloaded into your personal Google account.
