How to View Turnitin Similarity Report

Summary

The Similarity Report is generated by Turnitin to detect plagiarism for both human and AI work. This article will show how to access the Similarity Report that is generated whenever Turnitin is enabled. Turnitin is enabled on some assignments and a few forums. Step-by-Step Guide

To view a Similarity Report:

  1. Enter your course site in Moodle.
  2. Click on the assignment where Turnitin was enabled.
  3. Click on the either the Grademark icon or the Similarity icon.

  4. The Feedback Studio will open in a new tab. If it's the first time visiting the Feedback Studio, a tutorial will populate.
  5. Different information is available in the right-hand menu.
    1. Clicking on the blue speaking cloud will open up Grademark. Grademark will show any markings the instructor has made within Turnitin.
    2. Clicking on the number in red will show the Match Overview. The Match Overview shows what other sources your paper matched with. 
    3. Clicking on the down arrow will download the paper and all feedback provided by the instructor. The download option of Current View will provide the best information as it includes all information.
