Sending Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodations in AIM
Faculty Notification Letters/Accommodation Letters alert the professor of the accommodations students are approved and eligible to use in the course. Students with approved accommodations through OARS are responsible for sending their Faculty Notification Letter (FNL) of accommodations each term to their professors.
How to Send Faculty Notification Letters
Each term students are required log into AIM and send their FNL/Accommodation Letter. It is recommend letters are sent up to three week prior to the start of the term/class.
Use your Bethel University ID and Password to log into AIM. You can also access AIM by going to MyBethel > Tools & Resources > Accessibility Accommodations (AIM)
On your AIM MyDashboard - Overview page, click on the blue link titled, “Add Request for Classes” > Select your courses > Continue to Next Step > Select your Accommodations for each course > Submit Request.

Accommodation modification requests can be made at any time during the term; however, accommodations are not retroactive and cannot be applied to course requirements prior to receipt of the letter.
If you add a course, you must log in and send the Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodation for the new course(s).
NOTE: In order for academic accommodations to apply during finals week, students must have sent the Faculty Notification Letter(s) at least 5 business days prior to the final day of class. Students are required to send their letters each semester.
Glossary of Terms
Accommodations = An arrangement that provides equal access to those with disabilities giving opportunity to learn and fully participate in all educational programs.
Advisor = Accessibility Specialist as assigned by students last name.
Accommodations Letter = Also known as Faculty Notification Letter; an email sent to professors which contains information about the approved accommodations the student is eligible to use in class.
AIM = The OARS portal student's use to generate and send Faculty Notification Letters of Accommodations.
Eligibility = The approved accommodations a student is allowed to use at Bethel.
Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodation = Also known as Accommodation Letter; an email sent to professors which contains information about the approved accommodations the student is eligible to use in class.
