Benefits Introduction

Your Bethel compensation does not consist of salary alone; benefits also play an important part. Benefits of employment may change at the sole discretion of Bethel University.

Individual descriptions of the various benefits programs offered by Bethel are provided to you. Called "Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD)," or “Certificates of Coverage” these descriptions summarize the details of your coverage. In order to receive maximum benefit from these Bethel programs, be sure to read the Summary Plan Descriptions given to you at your Benefits Orientation or mailed to you once benefit enrollment is completed. For your convenience, they are also available on-line. A link to each Summary Plan Description can be found at the end of each Benefit Summary.

Additional information regarding the benefits plans is available through the Office of People and Culture.

Please Note: Not all details of the various benefits plans can be included in the Benefit Summaries and these specific plan provisions may affect your individual benefits depending on unique circumstances.

All plans are governed by the full plan documents and any representations made by management, individuals, co-workers, staff in the Office of People and Culture or otherwise are superseded by the provisions as specified in the full plan documents. No reliance should be made on any source other than the full plan documents and Bethel will not modify plan administration or the application of any plan on the basis of any other source of information.
