NOTE: You must convert Narrated PPTs to a video file (e.g., MP4, MOV, WMV) before uploading them to Google Drive and linking them in Moodle, or elsewhere. If you upload a native file (e.g., PowerPoint, .pptx or Keynote, .key) then only students who have that program (and version) on their computer or device will be able to view it.


 Access Google Drive

  1. You can access your Google Drive by clicking on the 9 squares in the upper right corner of your Gmail account.
  2. You can then click on the Google Drive Icon
  3. You then click on the “New” button and select “File upload”


    Sharing Preference

  4. Once the video has finished processing you can set your share preferences. By default anyone at Bethel withe the link can view the video. To change the setting you can click on the share icon

  5. You can then select from the list. To share with people outside of Bethel click on "more"


    Get URL

  6. If you want to get a URL, you can highlight it, click the get shareable link icon 

  7. Copy the link and paste it in your Moodle assignment or share it however needed



    Get Embed Code

  8. If you want to use an embed code you can click on the preview icon
  9. Then click on the more options icon (three dots) in the upper right corner and select open in new window
  10. You can then click on the more options icon again and select get "embed item"



    Embed in a Moodle page

  11. To embed a video into a Moodle page, go to your Moodle course site, turn editing on using the gear icon in the upper right, click on "Add and activity or resource," select "Page," and click "Add."
  12. Type a name into the "Name" field.
  13. In the second text box, which is labeled "Page content," in the first row of editing icons, click on the down arrow to expand  the editing menu.
  14. At the end of the second row of editing icons, click on the HTML icons .
  15. Then put your cursor into the "Page content" text box and paste the embed code.
  16. To make the video player the correct dimensions, change the width and height to these dimensions by editing the embed code: "width="768" height="432".
  17. If you would like to see the embedded video (but not play it), you can click on the HTML icon again .
  18. Then click on the blue "Save and return to course button at the bottom of the page.
