Full-time faculty across the university teach 23.50 – 23.80 Teaching Equivalency Units (TEUs) per year. In the College of Arts & Sciences and Bethel Seminary, this is the equivalent of 7 semester-length courses. TEUs are determined relative to course credit: Faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences receive 3.40 TEUs for teaching a three- or four-credit course. Equivalents for CAPS/GS courses are available from the Vice President and Dean of CAPS/GS. Load for teaching and supervisory responsibilities of laboratories, student teaching, nursing clinicals, coaching, music performance groups, etc. has been established within the TEU system. Full-time faculty loads must be within a range of 23.50 - 23.80 TEUs. Teaching Equivalency Units are given for administrative duties such as department chairperson, director of the academic computer center, Faculty Development Coordinator, and so forth.
