Students with approved accommodations through OARS are responsible for sending their Faculty Notification Letter (FNL) of accommodations each term to their professors.
By sending their own letters, students gain more control and individualization for the accommodations utilized for their courses.
What: Sending your Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodations each term. Students have the ability to choose what approved accommodation are used in each course.
Why: Faculty Notification Letters alert the professor of the accommodations you are approved and eligible to use in the course.
When: Each term students are required log into AIM and send their FNL/Letter of Accommodations. It is recommend letters areprior are sent prior to the start of the term (up to three weeks prior to the start of the class). You can modify your accommodation request at any time during the term; however, accommodations are not retroactive and cannot be applied to course requirements prior to receipt of the letter. If you add a course, you must log in and request your Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodation for the new course(s).
