How long has the slowness been noticeable?
Is the computer taking longer than normal to start up?
At what point does it seem to slow down?
Are there certain programs that are taking a longer time to start?
Are programs running slower than usual? ex: Microsoft Word letters not appearing right away.
Is the waiting cursor (rainbow wheel on a mac, hourglass on a PC) appearing?
Are web pages taking longer than usual to load?
Are there new or unusual pop-up windows appearing?
Has the default search engine in your browser changed?
