A brief overview of ways to grade a Moodle Assignment.
Grade button - Grading Online Text or File Upload Assignments
- Click on the link to your assignment in your course or the course Assignments block.
- Click the Blue Grade button.

When you click the Grade button, you will see some features that will help you to grade submitted assignments.
Area 1: Paper Display and Annotation
The paper loads in PDF format regardless of the file type that the student us uploaded.
Use the Navigation tool to view multiple pages of the learner's assignment.

Area 2: Student Selection:
Use the Arrows to move to the next or previous student or the drop down to select a specific student.
Area 3: The grading area:
The grading area contains the assignment description, any rubric or grading guide, the comments box and the grade assignment box for the assignment.
Area 4: Notify Students and Save Changes:
After providing student feedback and entering a grade on the assignment you must save your changes and are also given the option of notifying students that their assignment has been reviewed.
Area 5: Grading Views Options:
Collapse Review Panel: This view provides the old grading format for assignments
Restore Default Review/Grade Panel view: This view provides both the Paper view and Grade view panels.
Collapse Grade Panel: This view shows only the Review and Annotation panel/
