Setting Guest Access for a Moodle Course

You can allow guests to access your Moodle course. Here is how:

  1. Go to your course in Moodle.

  2. In the “People” block, click “participants

  3. Click the gear icon > Enrollment Methods

  4. Under “edit” enable the eye icon OR Click on the Guest access settings tool and change "allow guest access" to Yes.  (Add a password if you wish for more restricted guest access).


Guests should be able to access the course in one of the following two ways.

a. Send them the URL to the course. Then they just click "Login as guest" and they are in the course.

b. Have them go to https://moodle.bethel.edu/login/index.php?username=username 

Click Login as guest

Click on “Course Search” - search for the course title (e.g. music hour or course number MUS195).
