Installation

Navigate to the Audacity web site - https://www.audacityteam.org/download/, select your OS and follow the directions on the Audacity website.

Select  Microphone 

In Audacity make sure that the Snowball Mic is selected in the dropdown list. See screenshots below

If it isn’t selected (like in the screenshot below), then:

Click on the arrows on the right and select Snowball mic from the list

If you don’t see the Snowball mic on the list go back to your Control Panel (PC) or System Preferences (Mac) and make sure that the Snowball is showing up and working. Restart Audacity if needed.

Check Audio Levels

To adjust the audio input levels in Audacity use the sliders located right under the play/stop/record buttons.

You can monitor the audio levels by looking at the top right monitor. You want the audio levels to be between -24 and -6.

You do not want to be have the audio levels continually showing yellow/red

Export File

Go to the file menu > select export > and then choose Export as WAV
