Full-time faculty across the university teach 23.50 – 23.80 Teaching Equivalency Units (TEUs) per year. In the College of Arts & Sciences and Bethel Seminary, this is the equivalent of 7 semester-length courses. TEUs are determined relative to course credit: Faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences receive 3.40 TEUs for teaching a three- or four-credit course. Equivalents for CAPS/GS courses are available from the Associate Provost. Load for teaching and supervisory responsibilities of laboratories, student teaching, nursing clinicals, coaching, music performance groups, etc. has been established within the TEU system. Full-time faculty loads must be within a range of 23.50 - 23.80 TEUs. Teaching Equivalency Units are given for administrative duties such as department chairperson, director of the academic computer center, Faculty Development Coordinator, and so forth.
