Summary
Shared documents have owners who control access and the ability to edit of those documents. If you no longer will be controlling a document then that ownership should be transfered to someone else so they can make changes to the access or even continued existence of the file.
Details
- Login to your Bethel email at mail.bethel.edu with your Bethel username and password.
- Click on the Drive tab at the top of the page.
- Check the box or boxes next to the file(s) you would like to share.
- Click the More menu and select Share.
- Open the document you would like to transfer your ownership from.
- If the new owner already has access, skip to Step 7. If they do not, follow these steps:
- Click the white space below 'Add people.'
- Type the email address of the new owner.
- Click Share & Save.
- Click the white space below 'Add people.'
- Click the drop-down menu to the right of the new owner's name. Choose Is owner.
- Click Share & Save. You will now have access to the document as an editor.
