In order for a student to receive the Transcription Accommodation, they must:

Professors will first be alerted via the student's accommodation letter sent by OARS each semesterreceipt of the Faculty Notification Letter each semester by the student. If the student is registered for Closed Captioning Transcriptions, it will be stated in the student's accommodation letter as follows:

Accommodation Letter Text: 

"The student will need transcriptions made of all videos used in for the course. The professor needs to send the video links, as well as the date by which each video is needed, to OARS 2+ weeks before they are to be viewed. OARS will send the videos to a third-party vendor who will provide this service.."  It is the student’s responsibility to alert the professor and OARS if there are any transcriptions needed that have not yet been received. It is the professor's responsibility to provide OARS with links to videos for the course."

Determine student eligibility for a closed captioning transcriptions as an accommodation.

Send out an accommodation letter in a timely manner.

Consult with faculty to receive all videos that need transcriptions created for the student.

Submit videos to a third-party vendor and ensure transcriptions are given to the student in a timely manner to complete assignments.
