- On a computer, open your preferred web browser and navigate to https://registration.its.bethel.edu.
If you have connected your device to the ITS-Help-Desk network without registering it, you will need to wait at least 24 hours for the network to disconnect your device automatically before registering your device. The ITS-Help-Desk network has a disconnect policy much like hotel or airport Wi-Fi networks where it will kick the device off the network after a specific period of time. This device registration portal is a way to bypass this repeated disconnection.
- Type in your Bethel username (without the "@bethel.edu" email signature) and password in the appropriate fields and click Sign In.
- The menu page will load for Manage Devices. Click the Add button to add a new device.
- The Add Device page will load with entry boxes for Device Name, Device ID, and an optional entry for Description.
- In the text box labeled Device Name, enter a name to identify the device you are adding.
Note: If you receive an error when submitting this form, ensure that the Device Name entered does not have an apostrophe or other special characters. For example, titling your device "Josh's Xbox" will not work but "Josh Xbox" or "Joshs Xbox" will accept.
- In the text box labeled Device ID, type in the MAC address of your device.
Note: The MAC address can be found either printed on the outside of the device or located within the device's network settings menu. If it isn't labeled simply as "MAC address", it may be labeled as "Wi-Fi address", "Wi-Fi MAC address", "wireless MAC address", or "WLAN MAC address". The format is always the same: 12 characters total, 6 pairs of letters and numbers separated by colons or hyphens (e.g., 0A:1B:2C:3D:4E:5F or 0A-1B-2C-3D-4E-5F).
- In the text box labeled Description, you may enter a description of the device you are adding. This field is not necessary in order to register the device and is optional. The same "no apostrophe or special character" requirements from the Device Name field may apply.
- Once the device has been registered, it will be located in the list of Managed Devices. You will know that it is ready to connect if you see Pending next to the device.
- Connect the device to the Wi-Fi network titled ITS-Help-Desk and confirm if internet connection is now working.
