Networks at Bethel
Bethel: This is our campus secure wireless SSID and starting this spring will be a way to connect into the Bethel network. eduroam is a service used by several other schools and provides the benefit of allowing users to connect to the internet at any other participating school or university simply by using their username and password. An increasing number of campuses are using this eduroam service which means you can stay connected with WiFi on their campus with your eduroam profile!
How will this affect me?
By the end of this summer eduroam will replace Bethel WiFi as the means to connect into the Bethel network. This means that you will need eduroam to be able to use WiFi at Bethel.
Students
By this summer, all students will need to install eduroam on their computer and mobile devices to be able to connect to WiFi. Follow the links for installing eduroam on Windows and Macs and on androids and iphones.
Faculty and Staff
For those using a Bethel owned computer, eduroam has already been pushed out to your device. If you want to connect to WiFi on your phone or mobile device you will need to follow the link for installing eduroam on androids or iphones.
When will this happen?
By this summer eduroam will replace Bethel WiFi as the means to connect into the Bethel network.

primary wireless network at Bethel. You will need a Bethel account with an active Faculty, Staff, or Student role in order to login with your Bethel Community Account username and password.
Bethel eduroam: This is a "network" that our Bethel provided Windows laptops will connect to automatically without a username/password. It will only appear on these devices and is not a usable network aside from this purpose.
Bethel-Guest: This is the guest/open network on campus. When this network is selected from a device a splash screen will appear (similar to connecting at an airport, coffee shop, or hotel). Use this network if you are a visitor of Bethel or are using a device that is not capable of 802.1x authentication. Not all devices can authenticate to Bethel-Guest on their own. Devices like smart TVs, video game consoles, Roku, Chromecast, and Amazon Fire Sticks will need to registered first before connecting to this network. Instructions can be found at this Confluence article: Device Registration Portal.
Ethernet: This is a direct connection to our network using a Ethernet cable from a wall port or VoIP desk phone to the computer. For Dorm Port Activations see this Confluence article: https://betheluniversity.atlassian.net/wiki/x/VzP7Ag
