AIM Faculty Portal

The Office of Accessibility Resource & Services (OARS), uses a database called AIM which has a feature called the Faculty Portal. The Faculty Portal provides information about students who are registered with OARS and their accommodations. Faculty can reference the accessibility statement and accommodation process for context about how the Faculty Notification Letters are sent and received.

Faculty can view student accommodation letters two ways:

  1. Faculty receive a Letter of Accommodations email which lists the approved accommodations and the indicates the students request to use their accommodations.
  2. Faculty log into the Faculty Portal in AIM to view student accommodation information.  By using the Faculty Portal in AIM, faculty can view accommodation letters in one spot (rather than referring to individual emails) and are able to export data detailing students and accommodations by course.

How to access AIM Faculty Portal

To access the Faculty Portal, go to the AIM login page and use your Bethel credentials to log into the Faculty Login.

How to view accommodation letters in AIM

On the main page faculty will see a list of the students who have requested accommodations for their courses. If you are an instructor in multiple courses, students will be sorted by course and section.

To see a copy of the student's accommodation letter, click: 'View.'

Faculty will see information for all students in the class that are registered with OARS. In the column 'request date' you can see when the student completed the process to have their letter sent to you via email. This means the student has followed the process to formally request their accommodations.

How to search students by course

Faculty can use the 'Click to Expand Advanced Search Panel' to search for students by course.

How to search by eligible accommodations

The AIM system refers to 'eligibilities' which are the accommodations that the student has been approved to use by OARS. Use the 'Search Students' Eligibilities' tab to find all students with a specific accommodation. Click on 'Expand Advanced Student Search Panel' to search by specific accommodations.

For example, if you'd like to know which students have testing accommodations you can use the search panel and export a list.

Timing of Accommodations Letters in AIM

Courses for the next semester are uploaded into AIM up to two months before the semester begins. Once students begin sending their letters faculty will be able to see them in the portal by selecting 'Next Term.'

Faculty can reference the Accessibility Statement for Syllabi for context about the Faculty Notification Letter of Accommodation process.
