Giving Access to Courses in Moodle

Policy - Faculty

How can I get access to another faculty member's course in Moodle.

Anyone requesting access to a course for which they are not the faculty member of record must have a legitimate reason to access the course. FERPA protects access to student work and grades unless there is a legitimate need to see the work or grades.

Faculty who would access should obtain written permission from the faculty member of record for the course, and provide the Moodle administrator (moodle-admin@bethel.edu) with that permission (forward an email, etc.) along with an explanation of for the request.

Department Chairs and Program Directors who would like access can request the Moodle administrator to enroll them with appropriate access rights into any course-site in their program as needed, and they will be enrolled with no questions asked. The Moodle administrator will typically add the Chair/Director as a TA or import the course to a new or upcoming course as appropriate to best meet the requirements of the request. An explanation of the request will help the Moodle administrator determine how to fulfill it with the least amount of inconvenience to the Chair/Director.
