Port Activation Requests

In addition to wireless network access, students can choose to activate an Ethernet port in their dorm room if they want. Information on ITS policy for Ethernet ports can be found here: ITS Policy: Providing Ethernet Access in Campus Residences.

Filling out the form

There is a form at service.bethel.edu for port activations. Click the Information Technology Services tab.

Select the General tab, which includes the Port Activation Request form.

Select the Port Activation Request tab.

Fill out the form. This is the direct link to the form: Port Activation Request

  1. Raise this request on behalf of: enter your name (if it is not already filled in).
  2. Fill out the fields for Dorm Building NameRoom Number, and Ethernet Port Number. Add comments in the Additional Details field if necessary.

    Submitting this form may not be necessary for Arden Village East. Many (but not all) ports in AV East are already active. Please test connection to the port first and if a port is not providing internet connection, then submit this form.
  3. Click Send to submit the form.

Once this request is filled out it will create a case that will be passed onto our Network Services team to get your port activated. As stated on the form, "turnaround is minimum 2 business days, but is subject to ITS workload". You will be notified once your port is activated.
