Import errors

There are two common import errors. The first is a message "error/setting_already_added". This commonly occurs after selecting the course to import from in the import process.

The second is a long message describing how an answer to a question does not match.

Resolving the errors

First Error

The first error is caused by duplicated Quickmail blocks. To delete a block:

1. Turn Edit mode on
2. Open up the block menu on the right
3. Find the Quickmail block and choose the gear icon in the top right

4. In the gear icon menu, choose Delete

Second Error

The second error is caused by Moodle during the import process. The error will describe two questions where the answers do not match. To resolve the error, the questions will need to be updated in Moodle to have matching answer. The question listed first needs to be updated to match the second question. Questions are given an ID to help distinguish the questions.

To update the first question:

1. Open up the course that is being imported from. This course will have the question that needs to be updated.
2. Click on More in the tab menu across the top. Choose Question Bank.
3. In the Questions menu, click the Edit under Actions for any question. Choose to Edit question.
4. Change the question ID of the question to match the question ID of the first question in the error message. This would look like https://moodle.bethel.edu/question/bank/editquestion/question.php?returnurl=%2Fquestion%2Fedit.php%3Fcourseid%3D101075&courseid=101075&id=3732605 where you replace the "3732605" with the question ID. Do note, this URL will not work as it will be for the wrong course.
5. Copy the URL and paste in a new tab. 
6. Change the question ID of the question to match the question ID of the second question in the error message. 
7. Make any necessary changes to have the first question match the second question. Save the changes for the first question.
8. Try the import process again.
