Using Smartboards in Bethel Classrooms

Summary

Smartboards are teaching tools that free the instructor and students from being tied to the instructor teaching center.  

Bethel University uses the Smartboard SB690  in a few classrooms.  For support or questions please contact TLT or Classroom Support at TLT@bethel.edu.  For in classroom support press the classroom support button on the classroom phone or call 651-635-8527.

Smart Notebook Software Licenses and Installation for Faculty and Education (and related) Students at Bethel University

  1. All Bethel Classrooms with Smartboards have a Smart Learning Suite Room license activated on the Instructor Teaching Station computer.  We recommend using this classroom computer for the Bethel Classroom Smartboards.
  2. To get a license of Smart Notebook for use on a personal computer email your request to TLT@bethel.edu with your preferred email address (BETHEL) and  a brief explanation of your need for and use of the Smart Learning Suite (outside of the Instructor Teaching Station).
    1. Upon receipt of your request you will be added to our Smart Subscription portal using the email address from your email request (only Bethel email addresses).
    2. Sign in with your Bethel Google account on any device at suite.smarttech.com.

    3. Download Smart Notebook https://support.smarttech.com/en/downloads/notebook
    4. Install Smart Notebook (Smart Learning Suite - v.18 is the current Bethel Classroom Version 
    5. Open Smart Notebook on your personal computer
    6. On the license status page, click Smart Account: Sign in to or create a smart account.  Click Sign in with Google and choose/use your Bethel account.  You should get "You're all set" and the license should show days remaining  on the Bethel subscription (three years from Sept 1 2018).
    7. In Smart Notebook you can use the Account Menu to sign in and sign out of your Smart Learning Suite Subscription and License.
