Faculty Phased Retirement

A Faculty Phased Retirement Plan (Plan) was launched on February 1, 2016. This plan is no longer offered. This information will remain for those who are already on the plan.

The Plan allowed eligible faculty members to elect a phased retirement if such a decision, in their judgment, was in their best interest.

The Plan was available to full-time faculty with tenure, nontenure continuing status, or clinical faculty status who were at least 62 years of age on August 1 of the year in which the faculty member wanted to begin phased retirement and who had ten (10) or more years of continuous faculty service. The Plan allowed a participating faculty member to move gradually toward retirement by phasing down their teaching load for up to three (3) years.
