Additional Information
Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA) of 1994 (Public Law 103-382) requires that, as a condition of receiving funds or any other form of financial assistance under any Federal program, an institution of higher education must certify that it has adopted and implemented a program to prevent the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees.
Health risks associated with the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs may lead to substance dependency, lack of productivity, chronic health problems, and even death in extreme cases. Bethel stands willing to assist in the resolution of problems associated with the use of alcohol and drugs and encourages employees to seek medical help by contacting their private physician or one of the resources listed. Further information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, along with their health risks, legal risks, and federal and state laws regarding controlled substances is available in the web site links below.
