Stipends and Other Payments
Bethel does not pay stipends or other forms of payments to hourly paid employees at any time. Such payments complicate overtime payment and calculation and are prohibited.
Occasionally, a stipend or other form of payment may be paid to a salaried employee as a supplement to their base salary on a temporary short term basis. The use of stipends is discouraged. Any proposed stipend must be reviewed and approved and endorsed in writing by finance and the Office of People and Culture.
Stipends that are approved for exempt staff must have a beginning and an end date which can not exceed 12 months.
