Rest Breaks
Rest Breaks
If your work situation permits you to take a break without interfering with the normal operations of your work area, your supervisor may authorize you to have a rest period not to exceed 15 minutes for every four hours of work. Normally rest breaks are taken midmorning and midafternoon, and are not to be used to extend the starting time or advance the departure time of a work session. Since rest breaks are paid time, they are not cumulative and may not be used to extend a lunch period or as time away from work to attend class.
