Re-Employment
Bethel's re-employment policy recognizes the value of prior training and experience in a position with Bethel when considering individuals for reinstatement.
Full- and part-time employees who have terminated and left in good standing are eligible for re-employment. In order to receive the following considerations, the re-employment must occur within one year from the date of resignation. Employees seeking re-employment must complete an application for announced position openings through the Office of People and Culture and/or through the academic office hiring for a faculty role. Re-employment in a different career path or higher salary grade requires a new introductory period.
- Salary may be at any rate of pay up to the last rate received.
- Credit will be given for prior years of service to determine the paid time accrual rate.
- The employee's date of continuous service will be adjusted to include time previously spent in continuous employment with Bethel University.
Individuals who are re-employed by Bethel after having been separated from employment (excluding project and temporary appointments) for more than one year will be considered as new employees subject to all policies and practices.
