Student Advising

Faculty members should recognize the importance of the role of advisor to students and commit themselves to the responsibilities integral to such a role within a caring and Christian learning community. From the student standpoint, this personal contact with faculty members is one of the advantages of attending a relatively small school like Bethel.

All faculty members in the College of Arts & Sciences are expected to serve as academic advisors to insure that students have a full understanding of the rationale and requirements of the curriculum and academic programs. Class selection is but one aspect of such advising.

Faculty members should post their office hours and be available to students at those designated times. All teachers are expected to participate in the registration process. Extra time may be necessary to meet with advisees prior to each registration period.
